What makes a gift great?
You want to give great gifts! But really, what exactly is it that makes a gift great? If you just knew the answer to this question you could win the prize for greatest gift giver ever!
Here is the problem... There are as many answers to that question as there are people to give gifts to.
According to some sources the best gifts are things people want but wouldn't buy for themselves. But how do you find out what that is? In order to be able to accomplish this goal you are going to need to know the person you are buying for pretty well, either that or you will have to just ask them, which will ruin any element of surprise. So this option is probably better suited to your closest friends and family.
That still leaves the dilemma of what makes a great gift for someone you don't know very well or a perfect stranger?
Another source says that handmade and keepsakes make the best gifts. This is something more do-able even if you are not the crafty, DIY type. These days there seem to be more sources of artisans offering handcrafted homemade gift items of all sorts than ever before, with the internet and social media making shopping choices just a click or a tap away.
Things like homemade soaps, bath bombs and body butters are a popular choice. Also home canned jams, jellies and home baked goods like cake pops, cookies and brownies are always well received because, who doesn't like to eat sweet treats?
